  • Fragments Reimagined

In this series, I rescue fragments from obscurity and re-imagine them as playful, surreal vignettes with a subtle 3D element to them. Using collage, painting, and printmaking I transform archival materials into new visual narratives with the intention to preserve their tactile beauty while inviting fresh interpretations. The resulting images suggest hidden stories and symbolic layers, encouraging viewers to linger, question, and discover their own connections within the work.

Harvested illustrations and imagery from books, magazines, catalogues, and archives are given a second life within new contexts. I am especially drawn to vintage natural history illustrations — images that might otherwise remain hidden between pages on forgotten shelves, rarely seen in an age where information and imagery are increasingly sourced online.

These illustrations are chosen mostly for their colour, shape, detail and composition. I am intrigued  by the distinct characteristics of  vintage printed books and drawing styles, including the texture and quality of the paper itself, each carrying the visual language and cultural imprint of its era.   The backgrounds are hand painted and stencilled.
